The Port of Halifax is the only seaport on the east coast deep enough to accommodate fully laden, post-Panamax vessels. With seamless intermodal connections to and from the heartland of North America, the Port of Halifax is Canada's Atlantic Gateway to the world. The port will handle approximately 2,000 vessels Passengers passing through the port is expected to be  between 170,000 - 180,000.
