Halifax Regional Search and Rescue is a community-based volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives. First established in 1972 as Waverley Ground Search and Rescue, Halifax Regional Search and Rescue is one of four Search and Rescue Teams serving the citizens of Halifax Regional Municipality.  The team remains on stand-by for lost person incidents and civil emergency response 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
